Pertamina Geothermal continues drilling at Ulubelu for additional steam supply

In order to increase steam production, PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy in Indonesia is trying to reinject geothermal brine at the Ulubelu area in the Lampung province.

A subsidiary of PT Pertamina (Persero), PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy is trying to increase steam production from geothermal. This time, Pertamina Geothermal is drilling geothermal wells UBL-R2 / 1 in the work area Ulubelu, in the Lampung Province in Indonesia.

Drilling was conducted at a depth of 2,500 meters deep and the whole drilling activity is expected to take as long as 49 days. The same news source states that the President-Director of Pertamina Geothermal Energy Roni Gunawan could not reveal more details about the projection of steam output from the well.

Drilling well UBL-R2 / 1 aims to develop reinjection of brine into the reservoir in the Ulubelu field, from production wells Units 3 and 4. The wells were predicted to be in commercial operation within two years.
