PLN announces tender for peer review / well targeting of Indonesia geothermal projects

PT PLN is looking for interested parties to provide well targeting and geosciences consultancy for the Mataloko and Ulumbu geothermal projects in Indonesia.

Indonesia state-owned utility company PT PLN (Persero) has issued an invitation for interested parties to take part in a Pre-Qualification of the Open Tender for Procurement of Work, Peer Review, and Well Targeting for the Development of PLTP Ulumbu (2 x 20 MW) and PLTP Mataloko (2 x 10 MW).

Interested parties need to submit a Statement of Interest and Brief Company Profile no later than 24 June 2022. The pre-qualification documents will then have to be provided by 27 June 2022, no later than 15:00 local time.

Engagement of consulting services aims to obtain the most optimal drilling strategy for the two geothermal projects, thus increasing the level of confidence and improving the drilling accuracy. This tender offer will be done with APLN funding and will be carried out according to the Guidelines for the Procurement of Goods / Services of PT PLN (Persero).

The pre-qualification is open to parties who are interested and have experience in Geosciences and Well Targeting Work in the exploration stage. Selection will be through an open bidding process for participants who have met the criteria set by the Pre-Qualification document. The criteria are based on categories that explain the ability of the participants to carry out the work, as well as their technical experience and financial capabilities.

The Ulumbu and Mataloko geothermal projects are both located in the Flores Islands of Indonesia. In 2019, PT PLN included these two projects as part of a potential addition of 115 MW of geothermal power generation capacity by 2028.
