Praxisforum Geothermie Bayern, addressing the awakening of the heat transition

The largest annual geothermal event in Bavaria, the Praxisforum Geothermie.Bayern is to take place Oct. 5-7, 2022 addressing among others the huge interest in geothermal for heating in the current market environment.

The energy crisis – and with it regional and forward-looking technologies such as deep geothermal energy – are currently on everyone’s mind in Germany and beyond. However, a sharp rise in demand in the short term in the midst of an increasingly networked and digitized society also poses new challenges for the industry. The program of the annual Praxisforum Geothermie.Bayern from Oct. 5-7, 2022 is intended to address precisely these.

Therefore, the workshop on October 5, 2022 will revolve around the topic of digital transformation in the energy industry. The main focus will be on artificial intelligence, which can be applied in various phases of a geothermal project. In addition to numerous opportunities, the danger posed by cyber attacks on critical infrastructure will also be addressed.

A special novelty of this year’s practical forum is the integrated Career Forum (Berufsforum) Geothermie.Bayern, which is intended to pave the way for interested students to take their first steps into the rapidly growing geothermal industry. Apart from short impulse lectures there is the possibility for the exchange with employers and for a visit to the geothermal plant in Pullach. Students can register for free via the website.

The congress day on Oct. 6, 2022 will begin with a general look at the past and future development of the geothermal industry. This will be followed by contributions on the importance of successful communication between project participants and citizens, as well as the perspective of medium depth geothermal energy. After lunch follows the presentation of the Operators and the annual ceremony for the Christian Hecht Awards. Finally, the focus will be on the various application possibilities of deep geothermal energy, before a round table will enable a direct exchange between speakers and visitors.

On Oct. 7, 2022 the Praxisforum closes with the GeoTHOUR, a field trip which will lead from the geothermal plant at Munich Riem, one of the first Bavarian geothermal plants, to the recently completed geothermal plant in Munich Sendling.

Regular Registration ends on September 25, 2022 – so take the chance to join the geothermal event in Germany’s major geothermal market.

You will meet operators, developers, investors and the main service providers in the pleasant environment of Pullach, South of Munich.

Visit the website of the Praxisforum Geothermie.Bayern  to register.

This year’s exhibitors Silver sponsors are Enex Power and NW Assekuranz. Exhibitors are DMT GmbH & Co. KG, an engineering and consulting company specializing in preliminary seismic surveys, and Daldrup & Söhne AG, the market leader for deep geothermal drilling. Halliburton Artificial Lift and Hartmann Valves will also be presenting a wide range of its technical services.
