Preparations underway for geothermal district heating in Kuyucak, Turkey

It has been reported that a new phase will be passed in the project of heating Pamukoren and Yore Districts with geothermal energy, prepared in cooperation with Kuyucak Municipality and Celikler Holding.

It has been reported that a new phase will be passed in the project of heating Pamukoren and Yore Districts with geothermal energy, prepared in cooperation with Kuyucak Municipality and Celikler Holding. A protocol was signed between PAMSES company belonging to Kuyucak Municipality and Celikler Geothermal company affiliated to Celikler Holding. After the signed protocol, project design and feasibility studies will be carried out in the field.

Kuyucak Mayor Metin Erturk has been working on obtaining loans from Iller Bank in the past weeks. By obtaining the applied loan, the project funding requirement has been met. Aydin Kuyucak Municipality emphasizes that the geothermal heating works of Pamukoren and Yore Neighborhoods are expected to start soon.

When the project is implemented, the first geothermal district heating, thermal pool and semi-olympic pool heating will be brought to Aydin. Pamukoren Geothermal Power Plant (JES) is located in Kuyucak district of Aydin. It is operated by Celikler Energy, a subsidiary of Çelikler Geothermal Elektrik Üretim A.S. Pamukoren Geothermal Power Plant with an installed capacity of 67.53 MWe is also Turkey’s 4th largest geothermal power plant. The power plant went online back in 2018, as we reported.
