Putting Canada’s geoscience based industries back to work – a CanGEA Workshop

The Canadian Geothermal Energy Association (CanGEA) is organizing a workshop on “Technology Transfer – Putting Canada’s geoscience based industries back to work” June 23, 2016 in Calgary, Alberta

The Canadian Geothermal Energy Association (CanGEA) champions geothermal energy for many reasons that prominently include its ability to synergize with the upstream Oil and Gas sector.

While the exploration and development of Geothermal reservoirs use techniques and technologies nearly identical to the Oil and Gas industries, Geothermal is a clean and renewable source of power and heat derived from deep underground brine reservoirs. Canadian businesses are industry leaders in prospecting and developing subsurface reservoirs but the industry is under downward pressure.

In order to help re-deploy Canada’s geoscience based industry into a new and growing market, CanGEA is organizing an interesting workshop.

The workshop “Technology Transfer – Putting Canada’s geoscience based industries back to work” will take place June 23, 2016 in Calgary, Alberta. Participants will also receive a copy of CanGEA’s report on “Geothermal Energy Industry Skills and Projects 2016”

Workshop Agenda:

The event also features an informal networking session the same day for the the opportunity to network with Canada’s geothermal energy leaders. The networking event is included in the registration for our Technology Transfer workshop, but can also be registered for separately.

Details about the event can be found here.
