Request for EOI for geothermal power plant equipment, United Downs project UK

Geothermal Engineering Ltd (GEL) has launched an Expression of Interest for the supply and installation of a geothermal power plant at the United Downs Deep Geothermal Project in Cornwall, UK.

Geothermal Engineering Ltd (GEL) has launched an Expression of Interest for the supply and installation of a power plant at the United Downs Deep Geothermal Project in Cornwall. The power plant will supply up to 3.15MW of net electricity to the grid via an existing connection at the site.  The work will include the design, supply and installation of the plant.

The project is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund and will be the first geothermal power project in the UK.  The site is located at United Mines, near Redruth in Cornwall.  Two wells will be drilled into fractured granite; the deepest well will be approximately 4.5kms.  The closing date for the EoI is the 2nd of October 2017
