Stoke-on-Trent looking to hire geothermal consultants

Stoke-on-Trent City Council is looking to carry out a ‘seismic acquisition survey’ as part of the £52 million district heating project.

In a brief communication in a local newspaper from Stoke-on-Trent, it is  mentioned that the City Council is looking to carry out a ‘seismic acquisition survey’ as part of the £52 million district heating project.

The scheme could see geothermal energy from deep underground used to heat buildings in Stoke-on-Trent.

A seismic survey will reveal the potential for geothermal energy beneath the Potteries.

Council leaders want to appoint consultants to design the survey specification and carry out initial permitting for it.
