Local news from the UK state that detailed plans for Stoke-on-Trent’s £52 million ($76m) geothermal district heating work are set to be drawn up.
Stoke-on-Trent City Council has secured £19.75 million ($30m) of Government funding for the project, which it says will help boost the city’s economy.
With the Government grant due to be received by the end of this month, officers and consultants will be asked to start work on a full business case for the network.
This is expected to take until next March, with building work on the project expected to begin in November 2016.
