Strong presence at the European Geothermal Congress, Sept. 19-23, 2016

The European Geothermal Congress, to take place Sept. 19-23, 2016 in Strasbourg/ France is lining up a great set of speakers, program and field trip.

Italian Minister Stefania Giannini and many other international industrial and political leaders are to open EGC2016, a week of geothermal events this September.

Organised every 3 years, the European Geothermal Congress is the largest geothermal event in Europe. It is a week of varied events designed to appeal and support and develop everyone working in the field, both in and outside the continent. The 2016 edition will be held 19-23rd September in Strasbourg, France.

Three days of conference sessions

The opening session will be the start of three days of congress sessions, covering science, technology, and politics and markets in Europe and further afield. To see the full agenda, visit europeangeothermalcongress.eu/agenda

The French event Les Journées de la Géothermie will be held in parallel, with conference sessions on Monday and Tuesday. Passes for the European event will also give access to the French sessions.

Tour some of the latest deep geothermal developments in the region

The EGC2016 fieldtrip will cover the new Rittershoffen geothermal plant, currently producing high temperature geothermal fluids (>165°C) for heat, the newly renovated and well known EGS site Soultz-sous-Forêts, and a visit to the exposed rocks at the Western shoulder of the Rhine Graben.

Study at the Congress

Two training courses on deep and shallow geothermal technology and resources will be held on Monday 19th September, and excellent opportunity for geothermal specialists to update and expand their knowledge.
