Taiwanese students to research geothermal in Iceland

Taiwan Power Company sponsors a research study group to Iceland, Sweden and Norway to learn about geothermal energy.

Iceland, thanks to their extensive use of geothermal power is also a worldwide knowledge leader in the field attracting students and academics from all over the world.

With this in mind, Taiwanese students have raised funds and will soon be visiting the country looking to gain more knowledge on how to exploit this renewable energy source in hopes of developing it in their home country.

According to The China Post, the students “will attempt to understand the local energy usage, electrical power systems and renewable energy technologies, while visiting local geothermal power plants, greenhouse farms and an artificial geothermal lake.”

The research trip, sponsored by the Taiwan Power Company will also take the students to Sweden and Norway this summer.
