Tender opened for various mining activities incl. geothermal in Romania

As part of a wider bidding process started for mining activities and concessions, two geothermal area have been set up for tender in Romania

In an article published on legal website Lexology, Atttorney Varinia Radu of law firm CMS in Romania, shares details on a new regulation introduced in Romania.

On 19 August 2019, the National Agency for Mineral Resources (“NAMR”) published Order no. 294/6.08.2019 in the Romanian Official Gazette. The order approves the list concession areas for exploration activities and opens bidding round 99/2019 in the mining sector. Beside natural mineral waters, coal, lignite and rate mineral elements, sand and gravel, and others, there are two concession areas for “geothermal waters”.

The expected bidding is open to domestic and international legal persons. Details, forms etc can be obtained at the headquarter of NAMR. Deadline for the submitting of offers is 24 September 2019.
