Geothermal opportunities in the Upper Rhine Graben – IGC Invest, Workshop postponed

The Upper Rhine Graben Forum, part of the 3rd IGC Invest Geothermal conference 14-15 September 2020 (attention new date) will provide an opportunity to learn more about one of the key exciting geothermal regions in Europe for both power generation, heat production, but also Lithium production.

In conjunction with the 3rd IGC Invest Geothermal Finance & Investment Forum, two specific workshops will provide an additional opportunity to learn more on geothermal energy development from the perspective of investors, and about the geothermal energy opportunities in the Upper Rhine region across Germany and France.

Attention: As announced yesterday, the workshop as well as the IGC Invest forum have been postponed to 14-15 September 2020. More information will be released soon on the conference website.

The Upper Rhine Forum highlights the geothermal potential of the most promising geothermal region in Middle Europe. Here, geothermal gradients propose temperatures up to 180 degrees Celsius and high flow rates of more than 80 liters per second. This offers the potential for power generation but also heat supply to communities and industry. Additionally, high lithium contents in the geothermal brine propose additional revenues. Although in the central graben region of Karlsruhe many exploration permits are already awarded there are sill interesting areas proposing good geothermal conditions.

The first IGC Upper Rhine Forum accentuates the existing projects in France and Germany. It gives an overview about acutal prospects and developments as well as the chances of multi geothermal energy usage. So join the workshop in the afternoon of March 25, 2020 in the Sofitel Frankfurt Opera and participate in the development of the prospering geothermal market in the Upper Rhine Valley.
