Italian Turboden has released a great video on the 14 MW Lightning Dock ORC geothermal power plant in New Mexico, U.S., which was built for developer and operator Cyrq Energy.

Italian Turboden has shared a great video on the 14 MW ORC geothermal power plant at Lightning Dock in New Mexico. “The video was taken during commissioning phase and shows a start-up procedure of the plant.”, so a statement by Turboden.

The plant was built and is operated by Cyrq Energy. The contract for the plant was awarded in September 2017 and construction finished in December 2018. The plant was an addition to an existing power plant by Cyrq Energy and features an air-cooled condenser. The plant was erected on site within four months, on an overall schedule of 17 months, in consideration of the importance of starting the plant up before the year-end due to the PPA.

Lightning Dock is Turboden’s first geothermal plant in the United States, while it had previously delivered power generation units for biomass, oil & gas and waste heat applications.
