Take a tour of the Freiham geothermal plant in Germany from the comforts of your home on February 8, 2022. This 2-hour virtual tour will provide insight on the 12-MW geothermal heating plant owned and operated by Stadtwerke München. Registration is open for the virtual tour (via this link) and slots are still available as of writing of this article.
The Freiham geothermal plant provides heating to neighboring areas the west of Munich. It uses a doublet system that pumps water at a temperature of 90 degrees Celsius and transfers the heat via heat exchanger to the district heating water.
In 2021, the Freiham geothermal plant was awarded the most efficient geothermal heating system in Germany, as we reported.
