Webinar – Indonesian government-lead geothermal drilling program, Jan 30, 2021

With the upcoming government-led drilling program for Indonesia, this webinar with Ida Nuryatin, Director of Geothermal at EBTKE in the Ministry of Energy in Indonesia provides a great opportunity to learn more.

NQ Academy, a geothermal center of excellence under NewQuest Geotechnology has announced an interesting webinar on the strategic program by the Indonesian government to help de-risk geothermal projects by government-led drilling. The Government Drilling is one of the Government action to push geothermal development, particularly in risky phase “exploration drilling”.
Geothermal exploration drilling activities in Indonesia will be busier than the previous years because in addition to Govt. Drilling on 20 WKPs until 2024, drilling activities are also driven by GREM (Geothermal Risk Exploration Mitigation) facilities and enlivened by PSPE (Pre Survey & Exploration Assignment) mandatory drilling.

The scope of Govt. Drilling are; data acquisition up to well targeting and peer review, Infrastructure; land acquisition, infrastructure preparation, well pad and supporting facilities and Exploration Drilling 2 slim wells + 1 standard well.

It has been long planned, to starts in the middle of this year with drilling at three WKPs, yet earlier this month it was reported that to start only two geothermal areas are going to be targeted, so this is a good chance for the related contractors / services companies to ask the Director.
