ThinkGeoEnergy – Geothermal Energy News

Webinar – Sustainable geothermal heat for the Netherlands, Sept. 8, 2020 (in Dutch)

On Tuesday 8 September, EBN in the Netherlands will be hosting two webinars, one on data of the SCAN project and one about the study WARM (Value of Geothermal and Regional Opportunities).

EBN in the Netherlands is Week of sustainable (geothermal) heat from Monday 7 to Friday 11 September. In the week of sustainable (geothermal) heat, we would like to take you on board with the latest developments in geothermal energy in the Netherlands.

For Tuesday September 8, 2020, EBN in the Netherlands has organized two webinars in collaboration with various partners.

Webinar SCAN data – Sept. 8, 2020 – 11:00 – 12:30

The SCAN program maps the Dutch subsurface for the development of geothermal energy. The data that SCAN collects is made freely available to anyone who wants or can do something with it. In this webinar, we show what SCAN seismic research delivers in terms of data. How do we collect data, what does the processed data look like, what is involved in processing data and what can you do with this data?

The webinar is particularly suitable for people with a technical background; operators, policy officers subsurface / soil, consultants and interested parties. A live demo will be given with the newly available data. TNO is joining us to provide examples of new insights that these data have yielded. The webinar is intended to give a good picture of the end product that SCAN delivers and also the next steps that are needed afterwards.

For a more general impression of the SCAN data and a picture of geothermal energy in the region, we recommend that you follow the following webinar: Webinar WARM.

Webinar Value of Geothermal Energy and Regional Opportunities (WARM) – Sept. 8, 2020 – 13:00 – 14:30

Municipalities, RES regions and provinces are busy making plans to make the heat supply of the built environment, greenhouse horticulture and industry more sustainable. Geothermal energy is one of the sources that can be used as a collective heat option in a heat network. The potential of geothermal energy is dynamic in nature and changes due to new insights into the subsurface or the heat demand. That is why the WARM (Value of Geothermal Energy and Regional Possibilities) study was carried out.

In this webinar, EBN, Berenschot and Panterra Geoconsultants explain how WARM can provide a handle for including geothermal energy in the Transition Vision for Heat or Regional Energy Strategy. WARM offers municipalities and RES regions more insight into the possibilities in their region for the built environment, greenhouse horticulture and industry. In this webinar, an update is also given about the latest state of affairs regarding the development of UDG (ultra-deep geothermal energy) and about the SCAN program and the results SCAN delivers.
