ThinkGeoEnergy – Geothermal Energy News

Webinar – Update and first findings of the geothermal exploration well GN-Th-1 in Graben-Neudorf, Germany, Dec 9, 2022

Join this webinar with Dr. Sebastian Homuth, from Deutsche ErdWärme, for new insights on his company’s ongoing geothermal project in Graben-Neudorf, Germany.

As part of the regular IGC Webinar series – a partnership of Enerchange and ThinkGeoEnergy – we are proud to host Dr. Sebastian Homuth, from Deutsche ErdWärme, who will provide an update on the current project status and the first findings of the geothermal exploration well GN-Th-1 in Graben-Neudorf, Germany.

After the presentation you will have the opportunity to discuss and ask further questions.

Dr. Sebastian Homuth currently works as the Project Manager and Well Operations Manager at Deutsche ErdWärme. Thereby, his main responsibilities include the planning and execution of deep drilling works for geothermal power plant projects as well as business development and as an executive member he takes care of the buildup of internal organization.

The geothermal project in Graben-Neudorf is the most advanced project of Deutsche ErdWärme at present. Data evaluation from a 3-D seismic survey in 2019 shows that there is an attractive geothermal reservoir at a depth of about 3,500 meters. The reservoir, located in the local Buntsandstein, is expected to provide high natural permeability and temperatures above 160 degrees Celsius. These represent ideal conditions for the construction of a geothermal plant that can produce both electricity and heat – renewable energy from which the local community may also benefit.
