Within Energy acquires new geothermal exploration permits in Queenslands, Australia
Within Energy has expanded their portfolio with three new Geothermal Exploration Permits in various areas within Queensland, Australia.
Local renewable energy company Within Energy has announced the addition of three Geothermal Exploration Permits (EPGs) across Queensland, Australia to their baseload energy portfolio. This is in addition to the three EPGs that the company had already secured earlier this year in South-East Queensland.
Thus far, the EPGs of Within Energy are as follows, with the latter three representing the newest additions:
- EPG 2026 – Lockyer Project (between Toowoomba and Brisbane)
- EPG 2027 – Biggenden Project (West of Maryborough with major transmission network access)
- EPG 2028 – Gladstone Project (In the Gladstone area and contains major green energy projects)
- EPG 2031 – Dalby Geothermal (Between Dalby and Toowoomba in the Darling Downs)
- EPG 2030 – Goondiwindi Geothermal (In the Goondiwindi region in the Darling Downs)
- EPG 2032 – Rockhampton Geothermal (In the Rockhampton to Duaringa region in Central Queensland)
Within Energy is planning to develop shallow geothermal resources from permeable formations east of the The Great Divide. Considering the low temperatures expected in this region, the use of binary power plant technology is planned.
