Philippines’ based PetroEnergy reports on its ongoing expansion plans, expecting investments of up to P6.7 billion ($135 million) over the next two years into renewables.

Philippines based PetroEnergy reports on its ongoing expansion plans, expecting investments of up to P6.7 billion ($135 million) over the next two years into solar, wind and geothermal projects of the company.

In a statement to the press, PetroEnergy vice president Francisco Delfin Jr. reports that the12-MW Maibarara 2 geothermal plant is nearing completion. This will add to the already operating 20 MW plant that began operating in 2014.

The Maibarara geothermal plant and project is a joint venture between PetroGreen, Phinma Energy Corp. and PNOC Renewables Corp.

The 12-MW expansion of the Maibarara plant will cost approximately P1.9 billion ($38 million) and is set for completion in the fourth quarter. Power from the geothermal project will be sold to Phinma Energy.
