This great video published recently, shows the possible role of geothermal energy in Chile (in Spanish).

The video shows the current state of the use of geothermal energy in Chile, both in electricity generation applications (Cerro Pabellón, the first geothermal plant in Chile and South America), as well as heating and direct use.
