ThinkGeoEnergy extends a call for help to deal with the devastation caused by Typhoon Haiyan in the Eastern Visayas in the Philippines. Your donation will help with the emergency support efforts by the Red Cross to the effected region and population on site.

Having reported on the impact of Typhoon Haiyan in the Central Philippines, we are now extending a call for help.

As in similar situations, helping the emergency work by the Red Cross is to provide monetary donations. We believe that this is the best way to make sure money will reach the people in need.

Here a note by the International Committee of the Red Cross: “The ICRC is closely coordinating its relief efforts with the Philippine Red Cross and our movement partners, to help communities with the devastating consequences of the storm.

“There’s an urgent need to speed up the humanitarian response,” said Graziella Leite Picollo, deputy head of the ICRC delegation in Manila. With treacherous conditions making remote areas hard to reach, we are determined to help those most in in need.

Before the Typhoon hit, ICRC Manila dispatched 11 trucks to Tacloban loaded with food and other essential relief supplies (such as hygiene kits, kitchen utensils, jerrycans, tarpaulins, water bladders and water-treatment units, emergency latrines and medical supplies), but more help is needed as the extent of the destruction unfolds.”

ThinkGeoEnergy has donated today and is asking you to do the same.

The various Philippine embassies internationally have provided information about possible donation details see:
