Armenia could see start of drilling for geothermal project as early as late June 2016, as reported locally.

As reported by local news, exploration drilling for a geothermal project in Armenia could start this year. This was announced by Deputy Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Hayk Harutyunyan at a joint session of the National Assembly committees today in Armenia.

On the site in southern Armenia, the drilling is to show how suitable the site is for a possible geothermal power project.

Drilling on site could start as early as in late June this year.
