With a record-high number of 8,522 visitors, the 2025 GeoTHERM expo & congress again demonstrates its importance to the European and global geothermal industry.

The 2025 edition of the GeoTHERM expo & congress once again attracted geothermal experts, companies, and decision makers from all over the world, drawing a total of 8,522 visitors. This represents a 30% increase from last year’s numbers, which were already quite impressive.

“GeoTHERM 2025 experienced unprecedented internationality,” says trade fair director Frank Thieme. “This year we welcomed 280 exhibitors from 23 nations – including Australia, China, Japan, Canada, the United Arab Emirates and the USA. This impressive diversity shows that geothermal energy has long been a global topic and that GeoTHERM offers a crucial platform for international exchange.”

Beyond the numbers and the diversity of the companies, their exhibitions and presentations are also becoming more impressive. “Our exhibitors are increasingly bringing large-format exhibits,” commented project manager Gabriele Weislogel. “From drilling rigs for near-surface geothermal energy to state-of-the-art measuring trucks for seismic measurements and innovative storage systems.” GeoTHERM 2025 was therefore a real experience for the specialist audience.

A special highlight was the newly created Start-Up Area, which served as the trade fair’s innovation hub. Young, dynamic companies presented their pioneering technologies and solutions here. The Start-Up Area quickly developed into a hotspot for networking and investments: In the immediate vicinity of established market leaders, up-and-coming companies were able to make valuable contacts with investors, business partners and mentors.

“With over 60 top-class presentations, the GeoTHERM 2025 scientific congress offered a concentrated load of specialist expertise,” emphasises Tanja Hartmann, Head of Trade Fairs. “The combination of near-surface and deep geothermal energy in particular made the programme unique and impressively demonstrated how broad the potential of this technology is.”

The next GeoTHERM expo & congress will take place on February 26 and 27, 2026 in Offenburg.
