Geothermal Netherlands strengthened with new director appointed
The Dutch geothermal energy sector representation, Geothermie Nederland, has appointed Janine Verweij as new director.
As reported this week, Geothermie Nederland, the joint geothermal energy sector representation in the Netherlands, has appointed Janine Verweij as director for the organisation. With her extensive experience in working for sector organizations and representing interests, Geothermie Nederland sees in her the right woman in the right place.
Until recently she worked for Techniek Nederland and before that she was director of Energie Nederland. According to the board that unanimously agreed to her appointment, she has a good feeling for matters at the interface of government and business. Together with the new chairman of the board Hans Bolscher (April 1, 2021) and the members and office staff, she will work on the acceleration and upscaling of geothermal energy.
Janine is particularly looking forward to the stronger positioning of geothermal energy within the sustainable energy transition. Janine says: “I see a promising future for this inexhaustible sustainable heat source. Together with the 80 members and the knowledge partners of the trade association, I would like to get to work to utilize the full potential of geothermal energy. , has been successfully developed in horticulture and there is also a demand for more sustainable heat. So let’s pave the way together and seize this opportunity in the transition to a sustainable heat supply within the built environment, industry and greenhouse horticulture.”
Geothermie Nederland was established by the joining of two geothermal platforms in the Netherlands, Platform Geothermie and the Operator association DAGO earlier this year.
