This fantastic interactive map shows the thermal demand and geothermal district heating potential in Europe.
With nearly 50% of the energy demand in Europe being heat, it is no surprise that many political discussions about the energy security for Europe circle around the supply of heat.
As part of a European funded study, an online “Pan-European Thermal Atlas” (Peta) has been published online.
It shows the different heating options in Europe, with current heat demand, potential for solar energy, biomass and geothermal for district heating.
