New Mexico Public Service Company issues requests for renewable energy projects
The Public Service Company of New Mexico is looking for renewable energy projects that will help the utility meet state portfolio standards, and has requested proposals considering wind, solar, hydropower, geothermal and bio-fuel electricity generation projects.
Reported from the U.S. state of New Mexico, the “Public Service Company (PNM) of the state is looking for renewable energy projects that will help the utility meet state portfolio standards.
The utility issued its request for proposals Thursday. It says it will consider multiple proposals for wind, solar, hydropower, geothermal and bio-fuel electricity generation projects.
New Mexico’s renewable energy portfolio standard requires investor-owned electric utilities to get as much as 10 percent of their power this year from renewable sources. That will increase to 15 percent in 2015 and 20 percent by 2020.
As part of PNM’s requirements, the renewable energy projects must be available no later than 2014.
The deadline for submitting bids is June 10.”
