With support by the German Development Agency (GIZ), LaGeo successfully held a regional workshop on direct use of geothermal energy in El Salvador in early July 2019.

A total of 41 students from seven countries, including El Salvador, will receive the Course “Direct Uses of Geothermal Energy”, which will be given between July 1 and 5 and will be in charge of five LaGeo professionals and three international experts.

This second regional training event on the same topic is an effort of LaGeo with the support of the Central American Integration System (SICA) and the German Cooperation (GIZ), through the Geothermal Development Program (FoGeo).

The objective is “to cooperate in areas of common interest related to the field of geothermal energy for the development of direct use projects in El Salvador,” LaGeo reported, in a statement.

The participants, who come from Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, Guatemala and El Salvador, will receive the classroom course during four days of classroom work and a technical visit to demonstration projects in the Geothermal Field of Ahuachapán.

«LaGeo and its qualified personnel have an unparalleled experience in diploma courses and short courses, which is why it is positioned as a geothermal reference in the region in Latin America», highlights the institution.

The course was inaugurated by the President of LaGeo, Mynor Gil, who asked the participants to make every effort to get the most out of this new training.
