Indonesia is expected to reach 1,405 MW of geothermal power by the end of 2014 thanks to the new addition of 62 MW by 3 new plants going online.

It is well known that Indonesia has a vast amount of geothermal potential and that it is currently only using a minimal part of it.

According to a recent post in the Hydrogen Fuel News Website, it is stated that Indonesia is really stepping up it’s game in geothermal, reaching a grand total 1,405 megawatts this year, “as the three new plants are set to generate a total of 62 megawatts of power.”

This is great news since the demand for energy is ever increasing and with rising costs of fossil fuels, renewables are a “green” salvation.
