The upcoming Iceland Geothermal Conference provides a great opportunity to experience geothermal energy first hand, both through a great program and field trips. But don't stop there and enjoy one of the many geothermally heated swimming pools in Reykjavik for a pre- or post conference day swim or simply sit in the hot pots.

While the Blue Lagoon in Iceland still draws large crowds and is the key tourist attraction, there are a myriad of local pools providing a somewhat similar experience at a fraction of the cost.

Costing about ISK 980 (or around $9), a trip to the local pools of Reykjavik, or neighbouring communities is well worth it. (if you actually buy 10 tickets, the price is only $5/ visit)

It lets you experience of what makes Iceland one of the happiest places in the world, and experience the role of geothermal energy in the daily life of Icelanders first hand.

So if you are attending the Iceland Geothermal Conference April 24-26, 2018 … make a visit to a pool part of the trip … you can do so starting your day before the conference or take a relaxing post conference dip.
