Registration is open for an event organized by EGEC on EU policy challenges and consumer perspectives on Europe's heating crisis and solutions on 30 November 2022 in Brussels.

The European Geothermal Energy Council (EGEC) will be holding an in-person event on “Doing the right thing: EU policy & consumer perspectives on Europe’s heating crisis and solutions.” The event will be on 30 November 2022, 10 AM to 1 PM (CET), and will be held in Brussels. Interested participant may register via this link.

The webinar seeks to explore the challenges for EU policy and the perspectives of key large heat consuming sectors in the context of the heating crisis and the importance of geothermal and other renewable heating solutions. While the list of the speakers is yet to be announced, the event will tackle the following questions:

  • What can be done now, in the medium term, and by 2030?
  • How does the EU become energy-independent?
  • Can a country become gas-free?
  • What are the consumers doing to address the crisis?
  • What support do they need?
  • Why did they look to geothermal?

Miklos Antics, President of EGEC, will be providing the welcoming and closing remarks for the webinar.
