Join this webinar set up by software firm Seequent and learn how an integrated workflow in Geothermal exploration has been key in making the energy transition in the Netherlands.

Seequent has announced a webinar on “Innovative integrated exploration approach for geothermal reservoirs, a case study from the Netherlands” on December 9, 2020 – 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm GMT.

Join Pieter van Heiningen and Vincent van Hoegaerden from Blue Gold Exploration Consultancy BV will take participants through their innovative and integrated exploration workflow specifically for geothermal exploration.

It makes use of proven and established exploration techniques as well as a unique SeismoLog PRO technique. The energy transition in the Netherlands requires a sustainable and renewable supply of heat besides electricity that at present is still largely provided by fossil energy sources. Their integrated workflow makes use of proven and established exploration techniques and has been key in making the energy transition in the Netherlands but is also relevant in regions which are currently still under-explored.

Pieter van Heiningen (MSc) – Co-founder, Director & Principal Geologist has over 25 years’ experience and knowledge in worldwide in exploration for natural resources which he has been applying to the exploration for medium-high temperature geothermal energy for the past 10 years. He graduated in geology from Utrecht University in 1997. He is a member of EAGE, AAPG and International Geothermal Association and member of the board of stakeholders of ETIP-DG European Technology & Innovation Platform on Deep Geothermal – Mexico Geothermal Projects. He has previously worked at Schlumberger, CGG, Fugro, Gulf and at the VU and ITC.

Vincent van Hoegaerden (MSc) – Co-founder, Director & Principal Geophysicist whose experience as an exploration geophysicist with the use of the subsurface for energy spans more than 30 years at Shell, CGG and RPS, but also TNO, Ecofys and Alliander, approximately 50% in fossil energy and 50% in renewable energy. He graduated in physics from Utrecht University in 1986. He is a member of the EAGE. For geological risk reduction in deep geothermal exploration projects, he developed the globally unique SeismoLog PRO technology and software.
