The Bosque de Primavera/ Cerritos Colorados geothermal project in the state of Jalisco in Mexico is undergoing a final review to ensure environmental protection of the site.

The geothermal project of Bosque de Primavera will undergo a review by the department for Environment and Natural Resources. This was announced by Mr. Rafael Pacciano, formal  Secretary of Environment and Natural Resources from Mexico. This is to ensure that no important damage will affect the area, only if this can be guaranteed the project will receive the necessary permits to proceed.

The Bosque de Primavera project in the Cerritos Colorados geothermal field is located inside the forest of La Primavera, 20 km to the west of Guadalajara, State of Jalisco, Mexico.

The project is estimated with a potential of 75 MW a long time ago, so a statement by CFE in 2011. There has been an earlier approved Environmental Impact Assessment for a 25 MW power station. However some social opposition might explain a final evaluation now undergoing. CFE – as developer – received the concession in July 2015.
