Abstracts are currently being accepted for the 2023 German Geothermal Congress taking place on 17 to 19 October in Essen.

A call for papers has been published by the German Geothermal Association (BVG) for the 2023 German Geothermal Congress (Der Geothermie Kongress 2023). The congress will take place from 17 to 19 October 2023 in the Haus der Technik in Essen, Germany.

Those who are interested in submitting abstracts may do so using this online form. Abstracts will be accepted only until 30 June 2023. Lectures are usually done in German, but English lectures are also very welcome. For more details on the topics being accepted for the congress, please visit the official Call for Papers webpage.

The industry meeting is a must-attend event for everyone involved with geothermal energy, whether from a political, scientific or economic perspective. Germany’s largest and most important specialist congress on the topic of geothermal energy will take place this year in the Haus der Technik – with flexible premises and well thought-out and proven event concepts, it is a reliable partner and conference venue.

The thematic variety this year is remarkable: In addition to lectures on deep geothermal energy (including exploration, drilling technology, seismology) and medium-deep and near-surface geothermal energy (e.g. post-use mining, cold grids, operational planning and optimization), presentations on topics from the energy and research policy and funding issues. Case studies and lessons learned are also part of the demanding program.

With its “Call for Papers”, the German Geothermal Association is now calling on interested parties to present their current scientific findings at the DGK. Young scientists are also invited to take part in the “Science Bar”. The poster competition offers the opportunity to present bachelor’s, master’s or doctoral theses on the subject of geothermal energy to a broad specialist audience. The best presentation will also be awarded the young talent sponsorship prize of the Bundesverband Geothermie eV.
