The Iceland Geothermal Conference is an internationally recognized event and is one of the most attended events in the geothermal world. It will be held on 2027 for the 6th time, and will again be hosted by the Icelandic Energy Cluster and its members. IGC brings together the whole value chain of geothermal together; governments, industry leaders, scientists, and financiers to explore the role of geothermal energy in the global energy transition. With Iceland as a living showcase for geothermal success, the conference offers unique insight into practical solutions, policy frameworks, and cutting-edge technologies.

With the theme of “From Subsurface to Society,” the 2027 edition of the IGC will showcase how geothermal energy secures affordable clean power, enables new solutions, and strengthen societies.

Abstracts for IGC 2027 are being accepted on the following categories:

  • Derisking Geothermal – A track dedicated to reducing uncertainty across the geothermal value chain.
  • Geothermal in Practice – A track highlighting project development and operational experience in the geothermal sector.
  • Next Generation Geothermal – Focus on the frontier of geothermal innovation including superhot systems, AGS, AGS, and other emerging technologies and concepts.
  • Geothermal for All – A space to explore geothermal’s benefits to communities and society.
