Coca-Cola in the Philippines has signed an agreement with First Gen and Bac-Man Geothermal for the supply of renewable energy sourced electricity for its bottling facilities.

Announced this morning, Coca-Cola Femsa Philippines Inc., the current licensed bottler of Coca-Cola products in the the Philippines, has signed an agreement with First Gen Corp’s retail electricity arms – First Gen Energy Solutions Inc. (FGES) and Bac-Man Geothermal Inc for the supply of electricity from renewable energy sources.

The electricity is to power the bottling facilities of Coca-Cola in Ilocos, Pangasinan, Pampanga and Cebu. With the agreement the company is utilising more renewable energy in its operations shifting four more of its bottling plants to run on clean energy soruces.

“The company strives to make clean energy a more prominent part of its global manufacturing processes, in keeping with its long-standing commitment to reduce its carbon footprint and to achieve sustainable operations through the use of renewable energy sources and the adoption of new technologies to further enhance operational efficiency.”, so FEMSA.

The partnership between KOFPH and FGES will help the local bottling company work towards its global 2020 sustainability goals on energy.
