Where do you see entrepreneurial opportunities in the geothermal power and direct use sector? Where are the opportunities along the value chain, but also beyond in further utilization of geothermal heat?

Following a number of discussions with a variety of people over the past few weeks and reminded today with the announcement of the imminent deadline for the Startup Energy Reykjavik program, I just wanted to throw a question into the room.

Where do you see entrepreneurial opportunities in the geothermal power and direct use sector? While the obvious choices like consultancy and new businesses along the value chain are probably first to mind, what else might there be?

For an example in a meeting I had with someone from the seafood industry, he told me about the huge untapped potential of the currently wasted remains of the fish sold, e.g. fish skin, fish bones etc. So are there elements of the geothermal value chain that could provide business opportunities? Direct use options clearly are obvious choices, utilizing waste heat from geothermal plants.

Where do you think there is untapped potential within the geothermal sector for new businesses to be developed?
