The Dominica Geothermal Development Company has successfully concluded tests of its production well for the planned geothermal power plant.

In a release last week, the Dominica Geothermal Development Company (DGDC) announces having successfully concluded the testing of its geothermal production well in Laudat.

The DGDC wishes to clarify that the visible steam (not smoke) plume and the noise levels experienced only occur during the test and that the operating power plant will be quiet and with little steam emission.

The DGDC also wishes to thank the villages of Laudat and Trafalgar in particular, for working very cooperatively with the DGDC during the testing, and for the various visitors who came to observe the testing, including this class from the Dominica State College.
