According to Kenya's President Kenyatta, electricity inter-connection between the countries of East Africa is in progress and will be completed in April 2015.

Talking at the recent 5th Northern Corridor Integration Summit at Safari Park, Nairobi, Kenya’s President Kenyatta said that “deficiencies in production are being addressed through investment in generation and transmission.

The projects include production of geothermal power, construction of oil pipelines, power interconnection and construction of an oil refinery.

“The Memorandum on Geothermal Energy was signed in February, while the electricity inter-connections between our countries will be completed in April next year,” he said.

So there is hope that geothermal projects across the region will allow for wider energy trade among the countries in the region.
