Both plants have accumulated 10,000 hours of successful energy generation and demonstrate the potential viability of ORC solutions.

Reno, Nevada based Electratherm …… is a provider of geothermal solutions with currently two plants operating on geothermal resources in Nevada and Romania. The news source announces that the firm’s ORC low temperature solution named Green Machine has accumulated 10,000 hours of operation and electricity production.

“The Green Machine captures geothermal heat to generate power at temperatures and flows most ORC technologies cannot attain,” said Mike Olari, President of Energy Power Holdings, the ElectraTherm distributor that installed the equipment in Romania. “The robustness of the machine and the ease of installation make this application easily repeatable for the vast low-temperature geothermal resources available worldwide.”

There are several areas worldwide that can benefit form the efficient use of ORC solutions and broadening the landscape for geothermal energy generation.
