Enel North America, now part of Enel Green Power, announced that two plants of the company are nearing completion. The two plants are representing around 65 MW installed capacity and are located in Churchill County, Nevada. The Stillwater and Salt Wells plants will contribute greatly to the 20% renewable portfolio standards by 2015 in the state. The company estimates that about 40,000 American households can be served by the two plants.

Enel works also in South and Central America. In Chile, it is working with ENAP the national oil company to explore a number of areas with the potential for geothermal power generation of up to 100 MW. In El Salvador, the company constructed its first geothermal plant abroad, Berlin III, that has a capacity of 44 MW.
