Despite the set-back both companies faced at its project in the area of The Geysers, in Region II, the JV National Geothermal is advancing to second phase in the Bio Bio region to demand that the granting of exploration Chillán-located in the communes of Coihueco and Pinto-pass operation.

This allows them to drill, construct and operate a generating unit, which will use part of the likely sources of Nevados de Chillan, where exploration work was permitted. This is associated with investments of U.S. $ 190 million.

Minera Escondida, meanwhile, submitted six requests for geothermal exploration concession in the second and third regions.”
