Enel Green Power increases capacity in Italy by 20MW Lardarello geothermal power plant by Enel, Tuscany/ Italy

Italian Enel Green Power extends capacity of geothermal power plant in Siena, Tuscany in Italy by 20MW increasing overall capacity to 60MW.

With the addition of a new unit, Italian Enel Green Power, the renewable energy arm by Enel, the company adds 20MW in geothermal capacity to its portfolio in Italy.

The capacity increase means that the geothermal power plant close to Siena in Tuscany has now 60MW installed capacity, and is expected to provide 140 million kWh of electricity according to a release by Enel.

At the end of September 2010, Enel Green Power has an overall installed capacity of 5,884MW, of which 742MW are geothermal or 12.6 percent.
