Ground improvement works have started in preparation of the development of an ultra-air conditioned geothermal greenhouse in Nigde, Turkiye.

Ground improvement works have started in a project related to the installation of an ultra-air-conditioned geothermal greenhouse in the province of Nigde in Turkiye. This follows up on a previous story published by JeotermalHaberler on the news of a company carrying out R&D studies, with the support of Omer Halisdemir University, around the Narligol crater lake in Nigde on the installation of a modern ultra-air-conditioned greenhouse.

Ground correction and road clearing works of the greenhouse are carried out with the support of the Special Provincial Administration and the Nigde Municipality. Once preparations are done, the next phase involves geothermal drilling to a depth of approximately 900 meters to extract water with a temperature of 70 degrees Celsius.

Company representative Abdullah Mete stated that the ground works have started with the preliminary permission of the relevant institutions. Stating that they are planning to establish a 50-decare greenhouse in the first place, Mete said the following on the subject: “When we complete our land remediation work, we will lay the groundwork within a month. Our goal is to start the project in the first month of 2023. We will grow tomatoes here. We will establish a greenhouse system where we will receive production for 12 months of the year. It doesn’t seem like it’s cool in summer or scorching cold in winter. We will solve the heating problem in 8 months with the heat values we get from the geothermal well. We will reinforce the cooling equipment in the 4-month period.”
