Foreign direct investment is funding several renewable energy projects in the island. Will geothermal be developed in Cuba?

Cuba has been slowly opening to world and it seems that renewables are taking a prominent role thanks to foreign investment. Cuba has a massive dependency on fossil fuels imports to fuel its industry. Developing renewable energy sources can greatly help the government save money and make the economy more efficient.

According to a local cuban news source, there are plans to build seven new wind farms in the country and there are other solar and biomass projects in the making. Geothermal also seems to be on the talks but details are scarce.
