Efendi Geothermal is planning to drill two boreholes for geothermal resource exploration in the Kuyucak district of Aydin province, Türkiye.

Efendi Geothermal plans to drill two boreholes in the Kuyucak district of Aydin, Türkiye as part of a geothermal resource exploration program. Drilling will be done within the 1.35-hectare operating license area of the company. The approximate value of the project is calculated as 7.6 million Turkish liras (approx. USD 390,000).

Each of the two planned boreholes will be drilled at a maximum depth of 1800 to 1900 meteres. With the drilling, scientific data about the geological and tectonics of the underground will be obtained, and the chemical and physical properties of the geothermal fluid will be evaluated. It is expected that a production decision will be made according to the temperature and flow values of the geothermal fluid to be extracted from the planned wells.

If the desired efficiency for geothermal power plant production is not achieved, the drilled wells will be utilized for reinjection.

Efendi Geothermal is working to increase its activities in the region. Last year, the company applied to the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change to start geothermal resource exploration drilling in the expropriated area in Mezekoy, Aydin.

Geothermal development in Aydin remains very active with plans for geothermal projects announced by MB Holding and Albioma announced last year.
