GeoThermHydro – Icelandic geothermal know how in Chile

Three Icelandic enginnering firms launch GeoThermHydro, an engineering firm servicing Chile and the Latin American market. The company will focus on geothermal energy, hydropower, power line design and construction. The companies behind GeoThermHydro are ISOR (Iceland GeoSurvey), Verkis and Mannvit.

Recently launched GeoThermHydro, is the combined effort of three Icelandic engineering firms to be active in the Chilean market, focusing on geothermal energy, hydropower, power line design and construction.

Based in Santiago de Chile and Iceland, the company was established with the aim to provide specialized services in Latin America. The Company has an office located in Santiago de Chile that will constitute the business platform covering the requirements of the Latin American renewable energy development market.

The companies representing GeoThermHydro are ÍSOR (Iceland GeoSurvey), Verkís Engineers, and Mannvit Engineering. All three have been involved in supporting the geothermal energy sector world-wide and have been instrumental in building the Icelandic geothermal sector.

The representative of GeoThermHydro in Chile is Carlos Jorquera, an engineer previously working for Geysir Green Energy and Enex in Iceland.

The company is well positioned to serve the geothermal energy market in Chile, which is now picking up with the first 20 concessions being given out.
