To bundle common interests in promoting geothermal energy utilization in Germany, three different organizations representing the industry and research community have signed a cooperation agreement.

In a release today, the German geothermal organizations, GtV-Bundesverband Geothermie, Verein GeoEnergy Celle and the Wirtschaftsvereinigung Geothermie announce that they have signed a cooperation agreement. The strategic partnership between the organizations has the goal to bundle common interests in promoting geothermal energy in Germany.

It is planned to bundle different competences, to drive the utilization of geothermal energy. There is hope that the cooperation will create synergies for the benefit of the geothermal energy industry in Germany.

Key elements of the cooperation will be public relation work, lobbying activities, research and development, education, outreach events and fostering the participation of various interest groups.

The GtV-Bundesverband Geothermie is joint association by companies and invididuals, that work in all branches of the geothermal energy industry. It currently has around 900 members from industry, academics, planning and utilities. The main tasks of the association are public information campaigns about the utilization possibilities for geothermal energy for heating and power generation, as well as a dialogue with political decision makers.

The GeoEnergy Celle, is a joint organization of companies, primarily from the drilling, service and supply sector for an efficient development and utilization of geothermal energy.

The Wirtschaftsvereinigung Geothermie is a joint organization of companies primarily in the west of Germany in cooperation with the international geothermal center in Bochum and other organizations and firms in the state of Nordrhein Westphalia.
