The German Geothermal Association (GtV-BV) invites to its Geothermal Congress "DGK2011" and the trade fair geoENERGIA, to take place in Bochum, Germany, November 15-17, 2011.

November 15-17, 2011, the German city of Bochum will be the meeting point for the Geothermal Energy Sector: The Geothermal Congress “DGK2011” and the trade fair geoENERGIA.

The German Geothermal Association (GtV-BV) will host one of the most important conferences about geothermal energy in Bochum, Germany. The programme of the Geothermal Congress “DGK2011” will contain forums and workshops on numerous topics of shallow and deep geothermal energy as well as field trips to projects in the region. A particular focus will be put on developments in the congress’ partner country, the Netherlands. With the “Science Bar”, the GtV-BV addresses to young scientists and will award a prize among its participants. Patron of the congress is Federal Environment Minister Dr. Norbert Röttgen. This year, a special occasion will give to this congress a unique distinction: The GtV-BV will celebrate its 20th anniversary.

More than 600 visitors are expected to take part in the three-day programme. Participants also have the opportunity to present their own projects and experiences to the audience. With its “Call for Paper”, the GtV-BV is asking for submissions of papers for oral presentation at the congress. Deadline for abstracts is 31st July 2011. Simultaneously with the congress, the trade fair geoENERGIA will be taking place from 15th to 16th November 2011. Here, companies from all sectors in shallow and deep geothermal energy will present their products and services. In 2010, more than 60 exhibitors and about 1.100 visitors at geoENERGIA showed that this trade fair is a central event in the growing geothermal sector. GtV-BV offers an early bird discount to exhibitors until 30th June 2011. For visitors, the admission to geoENERGIA 2011 is free of charge.
