The Icelandic-American Chamber of Commerce holds its Annual Meeting in New York, April 8, 2010. Árni Magnússon of Íslandsbanki will present a report on the Icelandic Geothermal Energy Market and highlight the bank's role in the United States.

The Icelandic-American Chamber of Commerce is holding a conference in New York, April 8, 2010.

Title of the conference is “Iceland: Moving Forward”, and will focus on Iceland’s economy and the country’s renewable energy industry, which is built to a large part on the country’s geothermal resources.

The program will see a session on the Icelandic economy and its outlook with a presentation by Iceland’s Minister for Economic Affairs, Dr. Gylfi Magnusson and Mark Flanagan, of the IMF’s European Department.

In the session on Renewable energy, Ásgeir Margeirsson of Magma Energy Iceland and Árni Magnússon of Íslandsbanki, it will be looked into the role of geothermal energy in Iceland and Icelandic activities in the United States. Íslandsbanki will highlight the geothermal experience of Iceland and talk about its experiences in working in the geothermal energy sector in the U.S.
