DLA Energy, under the US Department of Defense, is requesting information on the feasibility of geothermal energy use in DoD installations.

The US Department of Defense (DoD) has issued a Request for Information (RFI) from interested parties concerning the feasibility of soliciting a renewable energy supply agreement (RESA) for geothermal energy for DoD installations. The request is being done through the office of Defense Logistics Agency Energy (DLA Energy).

DLA Energy requests an assessment of utility-grade geothermal potential, including district heating and cooling potential, at all DoD installations and identification of locations for each military department where such a project has the highest potential for success.

A list of the DoD installations to be considered for this RFI, as well as the detailed submission requirements, can be viewed in this document. Responses are expected by 21 April, 2022.
